Creating a Connected Student Experience

The NWTC Student Experience project reimagined key public spaces across multiple campuses to create more welcoming, connected, and student-centered environments. From Student Services and Learning Commons to collaborative gathering spaces, specialized classrooms, and informal study areas, the design establishes a cohesive experience that reflects the college’s commitment to student success while strengthening its identity across the district.

Over just three years, I led the interior design of 22 major capital projects along with improvements at regional learning centers serving Northeast Wisconsin. Working closely with college leadership, architects, engineers, faculty, and project teams, I developed environments that balanced functionality, durability, flexibility, and budget while maintaining a consistent design language across approximately 1.2 million square feet of educational facilities.

The completed spaces support every stage of the student journey—from admissions, financial aid, and academic support to collaboration, instruction, and campus life. Thoughtful planning, integrated branding, abundant natural light, and adaptable learning environments create welcoming spaces that encourage engagement, strengthen community, and provide a lasting foundation for future generations of students.
